A Message From Our Board
LLOYDS INFINITE FOUNDATION
Meet Mr. B. Prabhakaran, Managing Director of Lloyds Metals and Thriveni Earthmovers, a person that represents a rare kind of leadership, one that blends industrial excellence with a deep sense of social responsibility.
At the heart of his leadership lies a clear belief: industry must be a force for inclusion, not just income. That belief gave rise to the Lloyds Infinite Foundation, a platform created to drive long-term social transformation across education, livelihood, health, and empowerment, particularly in rural and tribal communities.
Mr. Prabhakaran’s professional journey began in 1993 with a single excavator. Since then, he has led Thriveni Earthmovers to become one of India’s largest private mining operators and later took over the reins of Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited in 2018. Under his guidance, both companies have achieved operational excellence across multiple verticals. But it is in places like Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, that the deeper impact of his vision truly comes to life.
The Lloyds Infinite Foundation was born out of the work being done on the ground in Surjagarh and Hedri, areas that had long been overlooked by mainstream development. Under his leadership, Lloyds transformed not just the plant and production lines, but also the possibilities for the people living around them.
Thousands of tribal youth have been trained and employed in technical, logistics, and support roles. Local women now run tailoring units, drive livelihood programmes, and serve as the economic backbone of their families. Through education initiatives, the Foundation has helped set up schools and provided access to scholarships, vocational training, and digital literacy. Health camps, mobile clinics, and preventive care initiatives have reached over 50,000 people in just the last few years.
For Mr. Prabhakaran, this is not CSR. It is the work. The mines may be the engine, but the people are the purpose.
One of the most notable examples of this ethos is the recent partnership facilitated by Lloyds between Gondwana University and Curtin University, a move that brings global education opportunities to the doorstep of rural Maharashtra. The MoU is more than an agreement. It is a marker of how the Foundation is building long-term bridges between aspiration and access.
What distinguishes Mr. Prabhakaran’s approach is the seamless integration of business and social outcomes. The same systems-thinking that drives innovation in in-pit crushing or 218-km slurry pipelines is also applied to health outreach logistics, education models, and community infrastructure. Whether it is creating employment for surrendered Naxals or providing ESOPs for blue-collar workers, the intention is the same; that of giving people dignity, ownership, and a chance to lead their own futures.
About Foundation
At Lloyds Infinite Foundation, we are guided by a core belief: the true test of industrial growth lies not in output, but in impact – where growth is measured by shared prosperity and the dignity and empowerment it brings to every community it touches.
This philosophy, a guiding principle of our director, Mr. B. Prabhakaran, is the cornerstone of our mission. It shapes a model where business growth and community upliftment are not parallel efforts but deeply interwoven pursuits.

Our Philosophy in Action
Lloyds Infinite Foundation is born from on-ground efforts in areas like Surjagarh and Hedri, which had long been overlooked by mainstream development. The goal is to create new possibilities for the local people, ensuring that they are primary beneficiaries of regional progress.

To date, we have generated over 12,000 jobs, with more than 5,500 in Gadchiroli alone. We have trained over 1,200 youth, including 900 on-site in critical mining roles. Our skilling programs have also empowered 400+ women, helping them enter industries such as mining and apparel.
More Than CSR: A Purpose-Driven Mission
For our board, the work of LIF is more than corporate responsibility—it is a commitment to shared growth. Here, the people are the purpose.
This ethos is evident in our key initiatives:
- Employment & Empowerment: Thousands of tribal youth have received technical training and sustainable employment. At LMEL’s Vocational Training Centre in Surjagarh, behavioral training is also integrated into the curriculum to ensure holistic development of trainees. Collaborations with esteemed institutions like Ashok Leyland and Vivekananda Polytechnic reflect the organization’s commitment to delivering top-tier skill development. Our focus on gender inclusivity is unwavering – women are now taking on roles traditionally dominated by men, such as excavator and dumper operations. These efforts to create a conducive environment for female participation in core mining reflect a deeper commitment to diversity and equal opportunity.
- Education & Opportunity: The Foundation has established schools and scholarships, including a landmark partnership between Gondwana and Curtin Universities to bring world-class education to the doorstep of rural Maharashtra.
- Health & Wellbeing: Our initiatives are anchored by the Lloyds Kali Ammal Memorial Hospital, which has provided 111,111 free OPD consultations and conducted over 800 surgeries. More than 50,000 people have benefitted from our health camps and mobile clinics—extending critical healthcare services to underserved areas.
- Infrastructure & Sustainability:
We’ve built community centres, restored water bodies, constructed roads, and developed elevated markets for over 300 vendors in Hedri. To improve safety and sustainability, 726 LED streetlights have been installed across 21 villages.
Building Sustainable Futures
Our model is rooted in systems-thinking—an approach that prioritizes long-term sustainability through interlinked solutions across sectors like health, education, livelihoods, and infrastructure. This integrated perspective allows us to design community development programs that are scalable, replicable, and deeply impactful.
As India advances, our vision remains anchored in this truth. We are committed to lifting our nation by lifting its people—one school, one skill, and one story at a time.
