Konsari: Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri. Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated a suite of ambitious projects at Lloyds Metals & Energy Ltd. (LMEL) in Konsari, marking a bold new era of socio-economic transformation for Gadchiroli. In a landmark event, key initiatives under the Lloyds Infinite Foundation were launched, including: Lloyds Vanya Clothing Co.: The project will empower 600 local women by providing skill training and employment. Lloyds Kali Ammal Memorial Hospital: A 30-bed facility soon to expand into a 100-bed multi-specialty center, enhancing regional healthcare. Lloyds Raj Vidya Niketan: An educational institution in Hedri offering free quality education from Pre-Nursery to Class 5 for 400 students presently,with plans to extend up to Class 12 and include hostel facilities. Industrial ventures also took center stage: The Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) Plant at Konsari is set to generate 700 jobs. The Pellet plant and Slurry Pipeline will create 1000 employment opportunities. The Iron Ore Grinding Unit at Hedri, Which is projected to boost the local economy by creating 1500 jobs. Additional highlights included the inauguration of Police Quarters, a Gymkhana, and a Children’s Park. Another significant highlight of the program was award of ESOPs to 6000 workforce of LMEL, with 80% beneficiaries from workmen and operators category. In a move towards inclusive growth, surrendered Naxals who embraced rehabilitation were awarded company shares   While Padma Shri Dr. Tulasi Munda was honored with 10,000 company shares for her exemplary social work. Lloyds Skill Development Centers through which more than 1400 local youth belonging to villages coming under AOPs – Gatta, Gardewada, Halewara, Pipli Burgi, Wangeturi and Aldandi will be skilled in job roles like Masonry, Bar Bending, Shuttering, Welding and Carpentry, was also inaugurated on this occasion. These initiatives underscore LMEL’s and LIF’s commitment to transforming Gadchiroli into a modern steel city and a hub for regional development. Chief Minister emphasized that these initiatives are pivotal in driving economic growth, empowering communities, and ensuring a brighter future for the district.

The Sports and Cultural Festival organized by the Sobat Foundation on December 8th and 9th, 2024, at Saoli, Chandrapur, witnessed stellar performances by the students of Lloyds Sports Academy (LSA). Competing in the Volleyball and Marathon events, LSA students showcased exceptional talent and teamwork, bringing pride to the academy. In the Volleyball tournament, which featured 12 participating teams, the LSA Senior Team from Konsari clinched the 1st prize, while the LSA Junior Team from Konsari secured the 2nd prize, marking a dominant display in the sport. The marathon event was equally remarkable for LSA. In the highly competitive 5-kilometer race, Yash Bhandekar finished in 1st place, and Rohan Dhurase achieved an impressive 2nd place, demonstrating outstanding endurance and determination.
