A new chapter in rural development began with the inauguration of the Hedri Village Market Yard, a well-planned facility aimed at uplifting local vendors and promoting structured commerce in the region. Built to replace informal, open-air selling spaces, the new yard offers vendors a clean, organized, and dignified environment to conduct their business.
Designed to encourage local trade and improve sanitation, the market yard will serve as a key hub for everyday shopping, benefiting both sellers and the broader community. It reflects a strong step toward sustainable economic development in tribal and rural pockets.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed participation from senior government representatives, village leaders, and local authorities. Present at the event were, Pursalgondi Gram Panchayat Sarpanch, Ms. Aruna Sadmek, Upsarpanch Mr. Rakesh Kawdo, and Police Patil Mr. Saurabh Kawdo, along with representatives from neighboring villages including Mr. Lalsay Talande and Mr. Katiya Telami.
Lloyds Metals & Energy Ltd. (LMEL) reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots empowerment through the presence of key officials — Mr. Subhashish Bose, Mr. Jeevan Hedau, and Mr. Ganesh Sethy. Their support highlighted the role of corporate social responsibility in strengthening rural infrastructure.
Following the formal handover of the market yard to the Gram Panchayat, the community now assumes full ownership. Leaders emphasized that it is now the responsibility of the villagers to maintain, operate, and thrive in this new space — ensuring it becomes a long-term asset for future generations.
The Hedri Village Market Yard is set to become a beacon of local commerce, self-reliance, and community progress — driving positive change in the region for years to come.
