MMU Initiative Begins at Dhanora with Menstrual Hygiene Awareness and Health Services.

In a meaningful step toward strengthening rural healthcare and hygiene awareness, the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) launched its services in Dhanora village on June 16, 2025. The event was inaugurated by Shri Vinod Khewle, Deputy Sarpanch of Dhanora, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from villagers. A special awareness session on menstrual hygiene was conducted for 43 adolescent girls, aiming to promote safe practices and challenge prevailing taboos around menstruation.
Sanitary napkins were distributed to all young girls and women of menstruating age to encourage healthy hygiene habits. In addition to the awareness campaign, the MMU team provided free health check-ups to 48 villagers, offering vital medical support in an otherwise underserved region. The day’s services were led by Dr. Payal Kondekar, along with Mr. Roshan Kamble, Mr. Roshan Lohakare, and Outreach Worker Priya Pimpalkar.
This launch marks a vital beginning for healthcare access in Dhanora and sets the tone for future outreach efforts, especially those aimed at women’s health, empowerment, and rural well-being.
