On 7th May 2025, a landmark MoU was signed between Gondwana University, Gadchiroli and Curtin University, Australia to launch mining-focused diploma programs. Backed by Lloyds Infinite Foundation and Lloyds Metals & Energy Ltd, the initiative aims to transform Gadchiroli into a hub for skilled mining professionals.
The signing, held at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai, was graced by Governor CP Radhakrishnan, CM Devendra Fadnavis, Australian Consul-General Paul Murphy, Lloyds MD B. Prabhakaran, and Gondwana University VC Dr. Prashant Bokare.
LIF plays a key role in this initiative, with Lloyds pledging major funding to set up a University Institute of Technology. Courses approved by MSBTE will train 30 students each in mining technology, steel technology, and computer science with mining applications.
The curriculum will be developed jointly by Lloyds Infinite Foundation, Gondwana University, and Curtin University, combining global expertise and local opportunity to build a skilled future for the region.
